Brand Calling Intention
How can we cultivate interconnectedness between humanity and our aquatic kin so our ecosystems coexist in harmony?
My Roles
Website Designer
Facilitator
Our project, Current, is a fictional organization that embodies our design intentions. We combined our goals which has become our calling intention behind this organization:
How can we cultivate interconnectedness between humanity and our aquatic kin so our ecosystems coexist in harmony?

With this intention, our aim as an organization is to bring awareness about our aquatic kin and what’s happening in their ecosystem to the general public. We believe that by allowing the people to learn and interact with our aquatic kin, they will cherish and protect them and the ecosystems they reside in. One way we achieve this by offering livestreams where the viewer can interact with our aquatic kin remotely.

This is reflected in our design as we created a style guide for our branding along with a logo, a content map conveying our research, a website showcasing our purpose, a social media campaign aimed at creating memories and experiences with and about our aquatic kin, and a ripple story representing our mission.

During this project, we explored different creative styles and methods that we were not familiar with. Our goal was to create an image that cultivates curiosity and exploration. When designing, we played with organic shapes to emphasize the fluidity of water alongside a friendly and welcoming environment. We also experimented with pictorial design elements to supplement our interrelationships with nature and our aquatic kin in the physical world instead of the cognitive and spiritual realm.

This project has not only allowed us to discover more about the world we share with the many different forms of life, but we have learned about the importance of collaborating as well. When the task is too big for one person, a group can share the responsibilities and burdens together.
